INTRODUCING
Alex Putzer is a researcher on the rights
of nature within an urban context. What is the ethical difference between a
meticulously maintained city tree and a presumably pristine rainforest?
To
answer this question, Alex is doing a PhD at Sant’Anna School of Advanced
Studies in Pisa and MIT Leventhal Center for Advanced Urbanism in Cambridge/USA,
further teaching at the University of Amsterdam and University of Applied Arts
in Vienna.
As a UN Harmony with Nature Expert and member of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature Academic Hub, he has conducted extensive empirical research in the field and frequently advises legal initiatives in Latin America and Europe.
